Sault skaters bring home hardware from Sudbury meet

Skaters from the Sault had a great start to the 2023/24 competition season when they took to the ice in Sudbury over the weekend.

Fourteen figure skaters represented the Lake Superior Figure Skating Club at the Skate Ontario Provincial Series Competition hosted by the Nickel Blades skating club.

Head coach Kerry Bain said she was very pleased with the skaters’ results. The skaters were great ambassadors of LSFSC, they all skated well, and some personal best scores were achieved, the club said in a news release.

The competition is one of several qualifying events, offered by Skate Ontario throughout the season, for skaters vying for a spot to compete at the Skate Ontario Provincial Championships.

This year's Provincials will be held March 22-24 in Brampton for Star 5-Gold and Pre-Juvenile to Senior.  The Provincial Series competitions also offer non-qualifying events for skaters at many different levels of skating.
