Sault College and Sault College Athletics are excited to announce that the recruitment for a new manager of athletics has been completed.
The Athletic Department, featuring impressive varsity and campus recreation programs, a state of the art fitness/gym facility, and a new Waterfront and Tennis Centre, welcomes Mr. Paul Orazietti to lead the team of dedicated staff, coaches and athletes.
Paul comes to us from the University of British Columbia where he held the position of associate head coach of the Thunderbirds Football program. A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of British Columbia.
"During the hiring process Paul immediately demonstrated that he shared Sault College’s vision for the Athletic Department. We believe there is immense potential for our College to recruit top varsity athletes for all of our sport programs and Paul's experience recruiting, coaching and building successful programs will allow us to reach this goal. I'm very excited to work with Paul and would like to welcome him and his family back to his hometown," said Matt Trainor, director, Student Services.
“After thirteen amazing years with the University of British Columbia Football program I am excited to start this new chapter in my life as the Manager of Athletics at Sault College. Upon meeting with the administration and the staff and coaches at Sault College this past summer, it became abundantly clear to me that there is a strong desire to do something exceptional in the world of College sports at Sault College. This is ultimately the type of challenge I am looking for at this point in my career,” said Paul Orazietti.
“I’m eager to reconnect with a community that boasts so many outstanding athletes and one that fostered my love of sport growing up. I am confident that I will be able to use the things I’ve learned in Canadian University sport to create a culture and tradition of excellence for the student athletes at Sault College: a culture that will give our College both provincial and national recognition as a leader in sport in the years to come. GO COUGARS!”
Paul will start in this new position in early 2019. Please join us in welcoming Paul to the College and back to his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie.
