Seven members of the Lake Superior Figure Skating Club have qualified to compete at the 2024 Skate Ontario Provincial Championships taking place March 22 to 24 in Brampton.
The skaters and their events are:
- Emily Arbour – Star 5 O13 Free Skate
- Kali Montgomery – Star 5 O13 Free Skate & Star 7 Artistic
- Elena Nelson – Star 7 Artistic
- Addyson Atkinson – Star 6 Free Skate & Star 7 Artistic
- Evie-Marie Beach – Star 10 Free Skate
- Delaney Schumacher – Star 9 O14 Short Program & Gold Free Skate
- Yvonne Barnes – Novice Free Skate
“I am very proud of the continued growth and development of LSFSC. The qualifying process for the Skate Ontario Provincial Championships is rigorous and identifies the top skaters in each category," said coach and director of skating Kerry Bain. "Having seven skaters representing LSFSC at the provincial championships, some in multiple events, is a significant accomplishment.
"The 2023-24 season has featured many individual accomplishments and personal best scores, it’s been a great season."
