With the weather cooling down, the soccer seasons for both Algoma University and Sault College are winding down.
The women’s and men’s teams at both schools were in action over the weekend with Algoma playing at home and Sault College on the road.
The Algoma women dropped a 1-0 decision on Saturday before dropping a 2-0 decision on Sunday.
Cassidy Collicutt had the lone goal in Saturday’s game to give Brock the win.
Melanie Schouten and Sydney Sica scored for Brock in Sunday’s win.
On Friday, the Algoma women’s team received a commitment from Sault product Amber Dunbar, who will join the team next season.
In men’s action on Saturday, the Algoma men got a goal from Simon Bobok early in a 1-1 draw.
Jared Agyemang had the lone goal for Brock.
On Sunday, Agyemang and Sebastian Agudo had two goals each as Brock blanked Algoma 7-0. Liam Farrell, Michael Fernandez, and Emmanual Kumar also scored for Brock.
Next action for the Algoma teams is Oct. 5 on the road against McMaster.
The Sault College women’s soccer team dropped a pair of road games over the weekend.
On Saturday, the team dropped a 9-0 decision to Seneca before dropping a 4-1 decision to George Brown on Sunday.
The Sault College men’s team also dropped a pair of games on the weekend, losing 8-0 to Seneca on Saturday and 8-1 to George Brown on Sunday.
The Sault College women will host Loyalist College on Oct. 5 while the men return to action on Oct. 6 at home against Fleming. The women’s also face Fleming on Sunday afternoon with all three games taking place at Superior Heights.
