SSMAC'S LEE MAKES SPLASH IN WEEKEND MEET

Sault Ste. Marie Aquatic Club swimmer Steven Lee captured the high point trophy in his age category over the weekend at the Eva Lanctot Realty Invitational Swim Meet in Valley East, with six first-place finishes.

The 10 year old Lee had first place finishes in the 50- and 100-metre breaststroke, the 50-metre butterfly, 50-metre backstroke, 50-metre freestyle, and the 100-metre individual medley.

Others to garner first-place finishes included Josh Lawrence (13), who won the 100-metre backstroke, while placing third in three others, and Erin Lee (8), who finished on top in the 50-metre backstroke. Lee also had a second and a third place finish.

Brian Lee (13), won silver in the 50-metre backstroke in the boys 13-14 age category, and finished in fourth spot in three other races. Patrick Bonne (12), finished third in the 100-metre and fourth in the 50-metre backstroke events.

Kalen Critchley (9), placed third in the 50-metre backstroke, Rayne Fisher (11), finished fourth in the 50-metre breaststroke and eighth in the 100-metre breaststroke. Kailee Valois (11), placed fifth in the 50-metre butterfly.

Other Aquatic Club members to garner top eight finishes included Michael Lawrence (11), with a fourth place finish in the 50-metre breaststroke and Brendan Wilton with a fifth in the 50-metre breaststroke. In precompetitive competition, Tyler Smith (9), won the 25-metre backstroke and placed fifth in the 25-metre freestyle. Shelby Diotte (10), had a fourth and a fifth place finish.
