St. Mary's grab consolation title in Sarnia

In senior girls basketball action over the weekend, the St. Mary's Knights won the consolation championship at a tournament in Sarnia. In their first game, the Knights were up against a tough Regina Mundi from London losing 53-46.

In their first game, the Knights were up against a tough Regina Mundi from London losing 53-46. Brittany Denneny led all scorers with 18 points and Stephanie Colizza chipped in 11.

In the second game, the Knights bounced back and defeated Wallaceburg 50-34, Kira Favaro exploded with 18 points and Kathleen Thorburn helped with 11.

In the consolation final, the Knights upended London South 45-33. Leading the way was Kathleen Thorburn with 19 points and Brittany Denneny with nine.
