As the Sault Sabercats varsity team prepares to wrap up regular season action in the Ontario Football Conference, the program has produced a number of quality players over the years.
Current Sabercats quarterback Jordan Robinson-Wright hopes to be a member of the next wave.
SooToday recently caught up with Robinson-Wright for our latest Q&A session.
Q: What’s your first sports memory?
JRW: Probably when I was in timbits soccer. I scored with my knee on a goal. It was my first ever goal and I went absolutely berserk about it. It was awesome.
Q: What other sports are you interested in that people wouldn’t expect?
JRW: Probably soccer.
Q: Who are three people, dead or alive, that you would like to have dinner with and why?
JRW: Definitely Baker Mayfield. He’s my favourite quarterback.
Kevin Hart and The Rock (Dwayne Johnson).
Q: Aside from something in sports, what non-sports career are you interested in and why?
JRW: Marine biology for sure.
Q: What person, living or dead, do you admire most and why?
JRW: My mom. She works hard to provide for me and get me to play sports like football.
Q: If you could be commissioner for a day, what changes would you make to the sport?
JRW: I would probably change the roughing the passer rule a little bit. It’s a little soft on quarterbacks recently.
Q: What’s the most important life lesson you’ve learned?
JRW: Probably to ask questions to better myself and not be afraid to ask questions.
Q: What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
JRW: I’m actually somewhat lazy a lot of the time.
Q: If you could have any super power, what would it be?
JRW: Probably super speed. I want to run fast.
Q: If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you bring with you?
JRW: Fresh water. A football. And a friend that I could play catch with.
