Team North basketball tryouts set for Saturday

Algoma University College and the George Leach Centre will be host to this year's Sault Ste. Marie basketball tryouts for Regional Team North at both the boys bantam and midget levels on Saturday, May 7.

In order to be eligible for the Bantam Development Program tryouts, a player must be under 13 years of age as of January 1, 2005. The Midget Development Program is open to players under 15 as of Jan. 1, 2005.

Bantam tryouts will be held from 10 a.m. until noon while the midgets will hit the floor from noon until 2 p.m. at the George Leach Centre.

The cost of the tryouts is $25 for players who are members of Basketball Ontario and $35 for non-members. Each player will also receive a Nike t-shirt.

From these tryouts, players may be invited to a weekend training camp in June.
