The Highland Ford U-12 Boys Civics visited Timmins this past weekend for a series of Northern Regional Soccer League games.
The Civics combined a tenacious offence, a play making mid-field, smothering defense and solid goaltending to come out undefeated in all four of their games.
In game one, Saturday at 12pm, the Civics handed Sudbury Penhellic a 3-0 loss. Highland Ford then prepared to meet the host team from Timmins late in the afternoon. Once again, the Civics kept the opposition off the scoreboard, with their intense play, earning a 2-0 victory.
Sunday's action saw the Highland Ford Civics put together a complete performance with a 5-1 victory over host Timmins. The Civics closed the weekend with a strong defensive wall against Sudbury Penhellic. The afternoon game ended in a 0-0 tie.
Next action for the Highland Ford Civics will take place this weekend as the team will host Timmins and North Bay for NRSL action at Strathclair Fields.
