The White Pines Wolverines needed all four quarters to solve the St. Basil Saints.
In a battle for sole possession of second place in the High School Football League's senior division, the Wolverines broke a scoreless tie in the third quarter and continued on for an 18-0 win.
The game was a defensive struggle for almost three full quarters. The Wolverines had difficulty early sustaining drives while the Saints found themselves in poor field position throughout.
Jonathan Widgett opened the scoring 4:47 into the third quarter on an eight yard run. Tom Hicks added a 23 yard touchdown reception from quarterback Cory Wensley while Matt Santos booted a 17 yard field goal and a convert and Widgett caught a two point convert.
The Wolverines improve to 3-1 on the season while Saints fall to 2-2.

Joey Plastino scored two touchdowns to help pace St. Basil to a 49-0 win over White Pines.
Paul Muio, Greg Dear, Brandon Nicholson, Nick Whitmell and Brent Seaton also scored touchdowns for the Saints. Seaton kicked seven converts.
