The White Pines Wolverines are going to the High School Football League city championship game.
The Wolverines exploded for 33 second quarter points and cruised to a 43-0 win over the Sir James Dunn Eagles in senior division semi-final action on Thursday night at Rocky DiPietro Field.
White Pines will now face the winner of the other semi-final between the St. Mary's Knights and Bawating Braves, which is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m.
The city final is scheduled for Friday, October 27 at Rocky DiPietro Field.
Jake Doan led the Wolverines with two touchdowns on a 55 yard run and a 56 yard punt return. Tom Hicks caught a 28 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Cory Wensley, Jon Widgett scored on a 13 yard run, Gary Leith pounded in another from one yard out and Tommy Swystun ran for a 13 yard major. Matt Santos kicked a 23 yard field goal and two converts.
