The following are results from week 17 in the Women's Hockey League, the final week of the regular season. Playoffs are slated to begin March 18th with the semi-finals scheduled for March 25-26 and the finals and league banquet on April 1.

The following are results from week 17 in the Women's Hockey League, the final week of the regular season.

*** GAME RESULTS:

Crawford's Canines – 1 vs. Brookfield Power – 1

In the first period, both teams were applying pressure to the goaltenders and the game remained scoreless until 3:10 when Brookfield's Sue Chiblow scored unassisted. Brookfield held the lead going into the third period. Crawford's swarmed the Brookfield net in the third, until Shelli Ubriaco was able to slide one by Lorie Springall to tie the game up at one.

White Oak Paint – 0 vs. Lafarge – 2

White Oak had many chances in this game and applied a lot of pressure on Lafarge's goaltender, Nancy Dewling, but was unable to capitalize. Lafarge was able to score once in the first period and again in the second to give them the win. Goal scorers were Lisa Rowlinson and Jenn Blahey, who also picked up an assisted. Lafarge's goalie, Dewling made keyed saves and was able to pick up her first shutout of the season.

BDO Dunwoody – 0 vs. Algoma Ins. – 1

In game with end to end action, either team could have scored at anytime. BDO came out flying in the first as Katie Healey was able to ring one off the post. Algoma also had their chances in the first, but BDO's Meredith Agliani shut them down on every opportunity. The teams continued to battle in the second, until Wendy Basawa was able to fire one passed Agliani with just 59 seconds left in the period. Picking up the assist was Lorilee Matheson. Algoma's goaltender, Joey Montgomery came up with some big saves to keep her team ahead, giving them the victory and her the shutout.

Skip's Kweok – 0 vs. Country way – 4

Country Way need a win to finish off the regular season in second place. Country Way started their scoring in the first, picking up two goals from Patti Storozuk and Karen Gartshore. Skip's had their chances throughout the game, but Country Way's Joy Agawa wasn't giving them any second chance opportunities. Country Way scored twice more in the second to secure the win and give Agawa the shutout. Scoring for Country Way was Storozuk, her second of the game and Donna May Sayers from Julie Hazelton and Liisa McMillan.

Sports Gold – 3 vs. Ont. Concrete – 1

Ont. Concrete was able to get on the scoreboard first, when Debbie Beauchamp scored with just 26 seconds left in the first period. Nicole Beauchamp picked up the assist on the goal. Sports Gold tied things up with less than 5 minutes to go in the second the period, when Sabrina Fischer scored. Marisa Pecile and Christianne Monico picked up the assists. Sports Gold then took the lead and victory in the third scoring twice to seal the deal. Scoring for Sports Gold was Pecile and Debbie Desgagne, assisted by Jean Feagan.
