CRIMSON RIDGE GOLF CLUB

***************************** Crimson Ridge once again named one of Ontario’s top 50 courses!

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - (August 17) – Crimson Ridge Golf Club has once again been identified as one of Ontario’s top 50 golf courses by Ontario Golf Magazine.

Crimson Ridge came in as the 44th ranked course in the 2007 edition of the biennial rankings and even more impressive is the fact that the course located on 4th Line received honors as the 13th Best Public Course in Ontario.

“We’re thrilled to be back on the Ontario Golf Magazine top 50 course rankings for the second consecutive edition,” stated Jamie Henderson, director of golf at Crimson Ridge Golf Club.

“I know how hard the courses work to try to make it on the list and to be the only course in Northern Ontario to make it is pretty special," Henderson said.

"It’s a testament to the job Gary Terris and his staff continue to do day in and day out to make Crimson a course that is both enjoyable and challenging for membership and guests.”

The Ontario Golf Magazine ranking panel was increased to 55 people in 2007 and includes golf media experts, CPGA professionals, Golf Association executives, golf course architects and even avid golfers.

The panelists are supplied with a list of the 291 best golf courses in Ontario and they must make their selection of 50 from that list.

The average panel member has played 129 out of the 291 courses.

“This is another huge step for our development at Crimson Ridge,” said Bob Higgins, majority owner of Crimson Ridge Golf Club.

“We are determined to make Crimson Ridge the best course it can be and to be recognized by Ontario Golf Magazine once again is a great feeling,” Higgins said.

In its first year of eligibility in 2005, Crimson Ridge found itself as the 43rd best course in Ontario.

To only move back one spot on the rankings in 2007 is a major accomplishment.

“With so many options of courses, such depth in quality and the fact that 26 grade-A courses have come on line since our last rankings in 2005, maintaining one’s position in the 2007 ranking is no small feat,” said Ted McIntyre, editor of Ontario Golf Magazine.
