Algoma University’s campus will host the first-ever St. Andrew’s Day Pipe Band Showcase, presented by the Northshore Pipe Band Club on Saturday, November 29.
The Showcase aims to “Unite the Bands”, which is an opportunity for the community of Sault Ste. Marie and the surrounding region to come together and enjoy the sights and sounds of the local pipe band scene.
This event allows the public to support the rich Scottish heritage which exists in the Algoma region and to celebrate St. Andrew, the patron Saint of Scotland.
This is a rare opportunity for the public to hear a diverse selection of Scottish music played by some of the bands that comprise the vibrant local scene.
The event will be headlined by the Algoma University’s Pipes & Drums & Celtic Society and the 155 Air and 2310 Army Combined Cadet Pipe Band.
Tickets are $10 and are available at Case’s Music or by contacting the Northshore Pipe Band Club through their Facebook page.
Doors open at 1 p.m., with performances beginning sharply at 2 p.m.
Performances will be held in the University’s Great West Life Amphitheatre.
An onsite reception and social will follow in the Speakeasy.
