ALGOMA HIGHLANDS CONSERVANCY

*************************
The snow is melting, Stokely Creek is flowing, and the robins are returning.

Now's the time to let you in on some exciting events coming down the trail!

Firstly, this weekend marks our 3rd annual GEAR SWAP and FILM FESTIVAL fundraiser.

Join us this upcoming Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the Essar Hall at Sault College for the Gear Swap.

A percentage of all sales will be donated to the AHC, so your helping out a great cause AND getting rid of your extra gear.

In past years, we've had paddling gear, canoes, kayaks, backpacks, tents, climbing gear, bikes, and tonnes of other stuff available for purchase, so come down and find some fantastic deals.

Make sure to spread the word and invite your friends.

For those interested in selling gear, please drop off your items between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, April 17 at the Essar Hall.

Students in the Adventure Recreation program will also be hosting the Water Walker Film Festival the evening of Friday, April 17 (films begin at 7:15 p.m.).

Tickets are $10 at the door, so come check out some awesome paddling films after dropping off your gear.

For any questions, please call Brian at 705.759.2554 ext. 2461

All proceeds from the Film Festival will be going towards the AHC as well!

More information is available on our website.

Secondly, there are only two spots left in our Wilderness First Aid course.

It's a 2-day, 16 hr course and will run on Tuesday, April 21 and Wednesday, April 22 (from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days) at the Kinsmen Hall in Sault Ste. Marie.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a 3-year certification in Wilderness First Aid and Adult CPR.

Thirdly, the AHC has partnered with Stokely Creek Lodge, Zauner Contracting Ltd., and the Sault Area Hospital Foundation for the King Mountain Jägerthon event.

This is a fundraiser for the Sault Area Hospital.
