A family in need in the Sault will have the chance to own a new gas furnace, courtesy of a leading heating and cooling company, in partnership with the United Way.

Wardlaw Heating & Cooling Inc. and the United Way Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District are joining forces to help a local family through the newly launched ‘Heat Your Heart, Heat Your Home’ furnace contest.

Wardlaw is one of the leading HVAC contractors in Northern Ontario, offering numerous in-home services from Batchawana to Thessalon.

This fall, they decided to collaborate with United Way to come up with a way to give back.

The community initiative will provide warmth to a family in need for many winters to come.

Wardlaw will provide a family in need with a brand new, high efficiency furnace before the year comes to an end, the company said in a media release.

“The last few years have been tough on a lot of people,” sales manager Tim Lelievre said. “We want to extend a helping hand to one local family in need and provide them one less thing to worry about during this winter season.”

The United Way is very excited to partner with Wardlaw on the initiative, fundraising manager Rayna Evoy added.

Until Dec. 2, low-income residents of Sault Ste. Marie are invited to put in an application should they be in need of a new gas furnace.

Interested participants are welcome to visit here for a list of complete rules and are invited to call the United Way office at 705-256-7476 to begin the application process.
