Indian Friendship Centre to host COVID-19 vaccine clinics every other Friday starting tomorrow

The Indian Friendship Centre and Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services are partnering up to host COVID-19 vaccine clinics every second Friday starting tomorrow until further notice, a news release issued today states.

Appointments are available to anyone 12 and older, although third doses aren't currently recommended for those 12-17 except for those with underlying medical conditions, the news release says. 

Moderna vaccine will be available for everyone aged 30 or older, and those 12-29  will be offered Pfizer.

Clincs, located at 122 East Street at the Indian Friendship Centre building, run 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Sault Ste. Marie Indian Friendship Centre and Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services will be hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic this Friday, Feb. 4, and every second Friday until further notice.

Appointments can be made for anyone who is at least 12 years old in the Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area. The recommended wait time between doses is as follows: 4-8 weeks between 1st and 2nd doses and a minimum of 12 weeks between 2nd and 3rd doses.

**Please note - At this time, 3rd doses are not recommended for youth aged 12-17 except for those with underlying medical conditions.

Moderna vaccine will be available for everyone aged 30 or older. People in the 12–29-year age group will be offered Pfizer.

Clinic is located at 122 East Street, at the Indian Friendship Centre building and runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every 2nd Friday. Appointments are preferred so enough vaccine can be made available. Walk-ins are welcome while vaccine supply lasts.
