Experience and commitment: new team of Nouvel-Ontario school trustees begin mandate
During its annual organizational session held on Friday December 5, the newly elected team of Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) school trustees was officially sworn in and began its four-year term.
During the meeting, the trustees re-elected Mr. André Bidal as President for the 2014-2015 school year.
Mrs. Anne Dechaine will assume the vice-presidency for the same term.
The new board will benefit from the experience of the following school trustees, who continue to serve in the same capacity: André Bidal, Normand Courtemanche and Marc Larochelle (Wards 7 to 12, Greater Sudbury); Garry Bruneau (Chapleau, Michipicoten and White River); Anne Dechaine (St-Charles, Markstay-Warren and French River); Paul J. Demers (Wards 1 to 4, Greater Sudbury); Suzanne Salituri (Sault Ste. Marie); and Roger Lemoyne (Dubreuilville et Hornepayne).
The team will also benefit from the commitment of four new board members: Paul Gervais (Espanola and North Shore); Louise Essiembre and Marcel Legault (Wards 5 and 6, Greater Sudbury); and Louise Dubé (Wards 1 to 4, Greater Sudbury).
“Supported by a team whose members are committed to offering a quality French language Catholic education to all of our students, I am confident that we will succeed in meeting the needs of the parents who entrust us with their children,” stated Mr. André Bidal, CSCNO President. “Even though we represent different areas of Northern Ontario, we are all guided by the common goal of supporting the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario in its vision to develop proud Francophone and Catholic students ready to take their place in society.”
“The Conseil will greatly benefit from the leadership and expertise of Mr. Bidal and Mrs. Dechaine,” added Mrs. Lyse-Anne Papineau, CSCNO Director of Education. “Their passion for French language Catholic education will ensure that they represent the interests of taxpayers in their community as well as at board and provincial levels. Surrounded by this talented and devoted team, I am certain that the CSCNO will continue to offer an educational program whose excellence and innovation are widely acknowledged.”
The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is recognized for its excellence. With some 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools, the CSCNO offers a positive learning environment from early childhood to adult education.
