NEWS RELEASE
PAULINE'S PLACE

Pauline’s Place is calling on the community of Sault Ste Marie and Algoma District to take part in our ‘Pallet Build-Off’ fundraiser this summer and get those tools ready to bring out your most creative ideas by refurbishing those wooden pallets for a great cause.

Pauline’s Place is hosting the third Annual ‘Pallet Build Off’ fundraiser from June 22 to 29, at East Court, Station Mall. Register a team of up to four people before June 10 and show off your artistic taste in pallet up-cycling project.

Registration is free of cost, however we would accept any kind of donations and count it as an entry into the event. Projects must be completed and dropped off at East Court, Station Mall on June 21 (after 9 p.m). Join us for Pizza and Prizes on June 22, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at East Court, Station Mall.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and completed projects will be showcased (on display) at Station Mall until June 29. Concurrent to that, the projects will be auctioned off online through our Facebook Page with all proceeds benefitting Pauline’s Place.

Pallets are a great source of inexpensive wood and with a bit of creativity can easily be modified to create many different types of furniture or décor. Projects of all shapes, sizes and skill level are welcome!

Pallets or any hardware, screws, paint etc needed to complete your pallet project is the responsibility of the team. As the fundraiser event will be held in the end of June, there is plenty of time to get your creative juices flowing. Pick up a pallet or two and create something new.

All proceeds raised will go towards supporting Pauline’s Place Shelter and homelessness in our community. Established in 2004, Pauline’s Place has evolved to a 19 bed facility providing emergency shelter to youth, women and families who are experiencing homelessness.

At Pauline’s Place, we strive to eliminate poverty in our community by providing food and other basic supplies. Dedicated staff use a supports based approach to assess each resident’s unique needs and liaise with other agencies as needed to provide advocacy and access to safe, affordable, sustainable housing.

Registration packages are available for pick up at Pauline’s Place, 923 Queen St. E, or request one by fax or email by calling 705-759-4663 or emailing fundraiser_coordinator.pp@shaw.ca. To find out more, visit our Facebook page or check out our website at www.paulinesplace.com.
