Wednesday, Joe Krmpotich, Ward 6 Counsellor and USW Local 2251 Union Coordinator, was honoured to speak at the Garden River First Nations Remembrance Day Ceremony.

Chief Syrette thanks the United Steelworkers for refurbishing the Name Board, Monument, fence and flag pole at our recent District 6 Conference (held in August).

The Steelworker delegates all felt that it was a privilege to be able to help with this refurbishing project.

Chief Syrette mentioned yesterday that the First Nations are looking into an additional First Nations Name Board that would be dedicated to those who fought in the War of 1812.
