Earlier this summer, Sault College announced another important support for its students: the CIBC Future Heroes bursary. This bursary – valued at $2,500 – was created as a tribute to those who are bravely fighting COVID-19 and to support the next generation in their ambition of having a career in health care.

Sault College is proud to announce that two of its students were recognized as inaugural recipients of this bursary! Congratulations to Sault College students Megan Morgenstern and Osa Ukhuegbe both enrolled in their first year of the Collaborative Bachelor of Science in nursing program.

“Sault College continuously looks for ways to support its students and provide opportunities that will help them to succeed along their educational path. By working together with great institutions, like CIBC, we are able to collaborate and offer our students incentives that can have positive life-long effects,” said Dr. Ron Common, President, Sault College.

“This bursary is particularly meaningful because it not only assists our students, but also celebrates our health care workers who have and continue to play a critical role in our current situation. On behalf of Sault College, I would like to congratulate Megan and Osa on this amazing accomplishment and express a sincere thank you to CIBC for recognizing the importance of supporting education and our future generations,” he added.

“CIBC is proud to help post-secondary students across Canada realize their ambitions of pursuing a career in health care,” said Stephen Forbes, Executive Vice-President, Purpose, Brand and Corporate Affairs. “The unwavering courage of our frontline health care workers has inspired the next generation of health care professionals to be strong, resilient leaders in their communities.”

The CIBC Future Heroes Bursary Program is available annually for Sault College students entering their first year in one of the following programs: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Practical Nursing, Personal Supporter Worker or Gerontology.
