ABBOTT, David Ramsay (June 4, 1943, to October 17, 2023)

Peacefully, after a short battle with leukemia, with his children by his side, on Tuesday,

October 17, 2023.

He is now reunited with the love of his life, his absolute best friend Christine (nee Thomson),

who he has missed dearly these past three and a half years.

Loving father and best friend of Katrina Cuglietta and David Abbott Jr. (Amanda).

Adored grandfather of Alysha (Justin), Bryanna (Brad), Mackenzie (Drew), and Danika (Noah).

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth Abbott and his in-laws George and

Helen Thomson. Dear wee brother of Carole Abbott Janke (late Jim and Garnett), and the late Thomas Abbott (

Ann). Brother-in-law of John Thomson (Sonya) and the late George Thomson (Mary).

Special Uncle to Caroline McDonald (Gary), Janice Peters (Brian). Uncle to Neville

Abbott (Penny), Ailsa Ann Kilroe, Lesley Wright (Gordon), George Thomson Jr. (Lorraine),

Steven Thomson (Brenda) and the late Gillian Rae (Danny).

David was born and raised in Scotland where he met and married the love of his life Christine.

Thomson. Together they immigrated to Canada (Sault Ste Marie), in 1966. He was a

hardworking family man. Nothing meant more to him than making sure his family was well.

taken care of. He loved with all of his heart and was loved and adored by so many along the

way. He had quite the sense of humour and often people didn't quite know how to take him.

His favourite saying had become, "You know what they say in the business...Oh Well!"

He was a positive role model to his children and his grandchildren. He was Uncle David or

Grandpa Abbott to so many who met and grew to love him over the years.

We would like to thank Dr. Hill, Cindy and the nurses in the cancer clinic, Shannon and Mack

on 3C and the nurses and PSW's at ARCH for your kindness and compassion given to our

father and grandfather during his brief battle.

At our father's request, there will be no funeral, cremation has taken place. A memorial

service will take place with immediate family and close family friends to remember and

celebrate the lives of David and Christine Abbott.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, ARCH, Tracy's Dream, Alzheimer Society Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Payable by cheque or online.

You can let go now daddy, you've given us the tools and the strength to do this on our own.

The wonderful memories you have given us will live on in our hearts forever until the day we

can be together again.

Go be with mom, she's missed you.

We love you forever and always...
