John passed away unexpectedly on September 13th, 2024, at the age of 61. He spent the past 15 months, at the Davey home, after leaving his hometown of Kapuskasing.
His family will forever be thankful to the Driftwood 1 personal support workers and nurses who ensured John settled into his new home by providing the best care, compassion and humour. There are no words that will adequately thank you for all that you have done.
Many thanks to the cleaning/kitchen staff, gift shop/bingo volunteers, physio and activity staff. The family would also like to give a special thank you to his loyal private caregiver Sandra as well as Donna, and Stephanie. Thank you to Shannon, Michelle and Dr. Landry in the emergency department and to McKenna on 3C.
His 3 sisters Lori, Donna and his twin, Janet are heartbroken as well as his 5 nephews and his niece. They will remember John for his determination to remain independent, care of his elderly parents, sense of humour, gift of the gab, ability to remember every birthday and his easy-going demeanour.
John loved playing euchre with Janet, Mary, Sabina, Anita, Sam and Max; watching the Blue Jays and Boston Bruins; white chocolate; sweets and socializing with the staff and residents at the Davey Home.
John will be laid to rest, in Kapuskasing, with his adoring parents and his best friend and brother Robert.
Memorial donations made payable by cheque to the F.J. Davey Home would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 215 St James Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, P6A 1P7, 705-759-8456.
