1946 – 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Appleton just three short days after his final trip to Patten Lake. Bobby passed away at home on Sunday, November 3, 2024, in the loving arms of his partner Theresa Barsanti (son Ryan).

Loving father of Jamie Appleton (Megan), Terri Printess, and Sean Appleton (Sherri). Special “Umpa” to Carissa, Caile, Chanda, Cara, Tyson, Tyler, Owen and Ben, and great grandfather to 10 beautiful children.

Bobby will be sadly missed by his surviving sister, Shirley Laroche, who raised her brother while growing up in Wawa. Predeceased by his mother, “Grandma” Simone Appleton and his sister Maureen Falardeau. He was “Uncle Bobby” to his many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Although Bobby battled health issues, he was able to spend quality time with his partner, Theresa who he absolutely adored. Theresa tended to all of Bob’s needs, taking him for daily rides to Bellevue Park with the help of her son Ryan, all whilst patiently tolerating his “quirky” ways.

Bob’s favorite place on earth was his camp on Patten Lake. A true “Diamond in the Rough” Bob spent countless hours sitting on the dock in true solitude. A special thanks to his lifelong buddy Tom Brason for the help needed to ensure Patten Lake was a safe and usable location for Bob to continue to enjoy.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Come & Go Celebration of Life in the Lower Lounge at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

The family would like to thank our city’s first responders and the SAH Emergency Department for caring for Bobby in his final moments. www.northwoodfuneral.com

So, at this point in time, to fondly remember Bobby, pour a glass of wine, add an ice cube and stare at a lake or warm fire. Rest easy Bobby! You will always be, “Gentle on our Minds”.

We will miss you like 10!
