52 years ago, when our brother Kevin was born, a Down Syndrome child was considered a family tragedy but nothing could have been further from the truth. To our family he was a welcome addition. A gift from God and a blessing in every sense of the world. He was our very special, much loved little brother and the pride and joy to our mother and father who proudly loved and doted over his every need. He loved his Bugs Bunny, the 3 Stooges, wrestling and anything with music in it. He would spend hours browsing his cherished comic book collection or standing in front of his organ playing his favorite tunes. Country music was a daily staple at the Bagnall residence, sometimes late at night or very early in the morning. But above all else, Kevin taught us how to love unconditionally and find joy in every little thing.
Sadly, on October 12th 2021, heaven has gained another angel when Kevin peacefully passed away at his home and a piece of our heart went with him. He is now up in heaven giving dad (Robert Bagnall Sr.) a big hug and reuniting with our sister Carol (Morin), Billy "Bill Bill" Tremonte and Frank Plastino.
Kevin is deeply cherished by his mother Jeannine and his late father Robert Sr. Kevin came from a large family. His seven brothers and sisters were very blessed to call him their “baby brother”. He was loved deeply by his sisters Lynda Plastino (late Frank) Patricia Bardawill (late Roger), Debbie Tremonte (late Billy, Mike Lasanen) and the late Carol Morin (Shane Morin). He was protected and supported by his big brothers Robert Jr., Rick (Lisa) and Jeff (Christine). Kevin will also be missed by his Uncle Henry (Marilyn). Kevin will me missed by countless nieces, nephews and cousins. He filled everyone’s lives with sunshine and our hearts with love.
A special thank you to Dr. Murdoch and all the nurses and staff in 3C. A tremendous thank you to our brother Robert. You spent many years of your life selflessly caring for Mom and Kevin. You were the big brother that Kevin relied on every day. Thank you for everything you do, for loving and caring for Kevin in a way that Dad would be proud of. Rest in peace little brother. You have enriched our lives more than anyone could imagine. You will always be in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of live will be held at a later date. In Kevin’s memory, donations made to the Algoma Autism Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
