It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Ron Bailey, surrounded by the love of his family on March 19, 2022, in his 84th year at the Sault Area Hospital. Left behind to mourn is the love of his life and soul mate for 62 years Sarah Bailey (nee MacDonald). Best dad we could ask for to Ronda Bailey "Daddy's little girl" and "Dad's hunting buddy" Lyle (Elyse) Bailey. Papa and best friend to Blaine Bailey (Dad will fly with him every flight now). Grampa to Tsian and Caanan Bailey, the apples of his eye. Dad's grand fur baby Bernie-Baby will surely miss his daily visits and belly rubs. Born June 23, 1938, he now joins his entire family in heaven, what reunion that will be. Predeceased by his Dad and Mom, George and Gertie Bailey and his in-laws P.D. (Peter) and Tena MacDonald, his sister Audrey (Danny) McKay, his brothers Arden (Lureen) and Orace (Kay), his dearly missed niece Cathy Bailey and his nephew Cliffe McKay. Brother-in-law to the late Mel (late Jean), late Cedric (late Margaret), late Robert (late Wynne), late Charlie, late Stanley (Ilene), late Earl (Betty), Chester (late Mary Ellen), late Elgin (late Mary Jane), late Peter (late Ann), Royetta (late Alex) McGregor and Eileen Headrick. Ron will be missed dearly by many nieces, nephews and many friends he met along the way.

Being an avid outdoors man, he loved hunting, fishing, and making maple syrup with Ronda. He was able to enjoy one last hunting season with his boys Lyle and Blaine at the camp in Meldrum. After 43 years at Algoma Steel, he enjoyed 24 years of retirement with his family. Dad volunteered at the Odd Fellows for many years, “Meat pie days" being his favourite. He could always be seen BBQing for the Goulais Senior Luncheons.

The family wishes to send a huge thank you to the paramedics, and the Emergency and 3C staff of the Sault Area Hospital. Your patience, kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

As per his wishes, there will be no service and cremation has taken place.

Memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. (Payable to or online to https://www.sahfoundation.com).
