In loving memory of  Maurice who passed away on September 4, 2022.  Born on October 13, 1927 in Azilda, the son of Florence and Alphonse Barbeau.

Lovingly remembered by his children Marc (Jacquie) Barbeau, Louise (Peter) Block and grandchildren Liza Turpin, Maggie Turpin, Isaac Barbeau, Chris (Elisa) Block, and Tiffany (Cody) Williams.

Survived by his sister Claudette (Bob) Lapointe of Sudbury. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Julie (Bohush) Barbeau and siblings John (Mary) Barbeau and Lorraine (Ray) Campbell.

Maurice was a salesman his entire life, selling cookware for the most part, then working for True Steel Security out of Sudbury…in the words of the True Steel General Manager John Whitehead…

Maurice Barbeau joined True Steel Security in 1994 at the young age of 67.  At nearly 90 years old he has decided that it is time to retire.  Prior to joining us he had already accumulated nearly 50 years of sales experience selling cookware door to door.  Having sold them cookware many, many years earlier, he was often able to remember the names and home locations of the parents or even grandparents of his new alarm clients.  Maurice has an uncanny ability to connect with people.

Little did I know that he would be one of my top producing sales representatives right up to and including his last year at the age of 90.

If I am fortunate enough to live to the age of 90, I know I will never meet another man as unique and wonderful as Maurice Barbeau.

When he moved to Sault Ste. Marie at 90, Maurice lived at Chartwell Collegiate Heights Retirement Residence.  Management recognized his gift and recruited him to sell the residence at Kiosks at the local malls….He loved the place and especially the food…

He said everyone was a salesman…and if they tell you they are not…they are selling you on the idea that they are not a salesman…

I do not know if they need salesmen in Heaven….but if they do…..

Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
