June 1932- July 2021.  Passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 89. Tony was born in Bannia, Italy near Pordenone. Son of the late Luigi and Romana. Loving husband and best friend of 60 years to Antonietta. Cherished father to Luigi (Laura) and Anthony (Cara). Loving brother of the late Adele Boscariol (Late Angelo), survived by Luigia Bet (late Agostino), and the late Clelia Pilot (late Antonio). Son-in-law of the late Nicola and Margherita Genetti. Brother-in-law of the late Berardina "Dina" Colasacco (late Emidio). Brother-in-law of Dora Colasacco (late Armando), Ersilia DiMicoli (late Camillo), Frank Genetti (Late Linda). Nonno of Emma, Sophia, Romana, Marcella and Cesare.

Soon after his 19th birthday Tony departed from Genova and travelled by boat to Canada, landing at Pier 21 in Halifax. He arrived in Sault Ste. Marie at the home of his aunt and uncle, Marietta and Giuseppe Frattolin. He found work in construction in the Sault, Sudbury, and Toronto before returning to Sault Ste. Marie to take various types of trade work during 35 years with Algoma Steel, most of that as a carpenter.

Tony assisted with many homes in the Sault utilizing his knowledge of design and construction trades.

One day he saw a young lady walk by while he was working on a rooftop. Antonietta would become his future wife. The rest, as they say, is history.

Tony will always be remembered for his keen eye in designing, building, cribbage and gardening. He had a great love of classical music, including selected opera pieces and Frank Sinatra. He was an avid reader including the daily newspaper and he enjoyed the challenge of completing the dailey Sudoku. Tony was, above all, a family man, devoted to his wife and children. Tony was a faithful member of St. Veronica's Parish, and was proud to be from his home town of Bannia.

A visitation will be held at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 10 am until 11:30 am.  A private Mass will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to St. Veronica's Church, or the Group Health Centre Trust Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family. Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com obituaries to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family. If anyone is not able to attend the service, they are welcome to view it online through St. Veronica's Parish website.
