Born in Dipignano, Cosenza, Italy, Assunta passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. We take great comfort knowing she is now reunited with her cherished husband, Antonio and her daughter, Mary. Devoted mother and friend of Terry (Dawn). Assunta was a proud Nona to her grandchildren Paula, Mark, Suzanne (Ryan), Jessica, and Dustin. She delighted in the company of her great-grandchildren Finnley, Kieran, and Tobi. Beloved daughter of the late John and the late Maria Beltrano. She was a treasured sister of Emma (late Mario) and predeceased by Oresto (late Teresa), Terry (late Mary). Daughter-in-law of the late Saverio and the late Maria Beltrano. Sister-in-law of Joe (Rosa) and the late Michele (Carmela). Assunta will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and all who knew her.
A skilled seamstress known for her beautiful curtains; Assunta spent most of her life in the West End of Sault Ste. Marie.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Funeral mass will follow at St. Veronica's Church at 12:00 p.m. with Father Peter Nwachukwu officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association (OFRA) would be greatly appreciated.
