 It is with deep regret and broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in her 100th year. God decided it was time to peacefully take Luigina Bernardo to His heavenly home. The golden gates opened up for her arrival. Although our hearts are broken, we are thankful to our Maker for allowing her presence on this Earthly place for over 99 years. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Vincenzo Bernardo. Dear mother and best friend of Emilio, Louise Maxwell (Brian), Theresa Muto (Dennis Turmaine) and Mary Rodenhurst (Mel Vetero). Adored grandmother of Vincent Bernardo, Ronald Chilelli (Virginia), Shelley Nadeau (Mark), Corey Bernardo (Eduarda), Olen Bernardo, Marc Muto (Elisa), Michael Muto (Lori), Brian Maxwell (Patricia), Brandon Rodenhurst (Kristina) and Cassandra Rodenhurst (Scott). Great grandmother of Mikhal Muto, Carmen Muto, Nico Bernardo, Xander Bernardo and Eleanor Rodenhurst. Predeceased by her siblings Vincenzo Febbraro (Rosa), Vittorio Febbraro (Filomena), Emilia Barone (Alberto) and Rosario Pirillo (Giovanni). Sister-in-law of Eugenio Bernardo (late Carmela), Francesco Bernardo (late Mattalina), late Luisa Nicoletti (Nicola) and the late Carmela Zimbaro (late Bruno). She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and special friend Teresina Muto. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to held at St. Gregory’s Parish at 2:00 p.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment Holy Sepculchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the SAH Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Thank you to the staff at the Sault Area Hospital and Cedarwood Lodge, especially Mary Ann Muto and Shelley Wemigwams for their special care.
