(November 11, 1941 ~ August 25, 2023) - With family by his side, he passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 after a prolonged illness. He was 81.

An employee of Algoma Steel for 35 years starting in the Exploration Department and retiring from Algoma Steel Stores.

He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling and he shared these passions with his sweetheart Dorothy Ann and his children. He spent numerous weekends at 5th Line Speedway drag racing his ‘71 El Camino. And of course, all the weekends with family at camp on Bone Lake. 

Son of the late Norman and Elaine Bourgeois. Brother of the late Norline Lethbridge. Survived by his wife Dorothy Ann (née Mackenzie.) They were married 51 years. Father of Norm Bourgeois (Julie), Jodi-Lynn Hill (Tim), Tyler Bourgeois (Laura) and the late Melaina Bourgeois. Papa of Jacob (Phatchari), J’aime (Kevin), Jared, Jeannée and Justin Hill, Jesse (Ally) Evans, Caleb (Chelsea) Pears, Mackenna Bourgeois, Natalie (Taylor) Yuen and the late Joey Bourgeois. Great Papa of Anthony, Annabella, Helen and Darlene.
Brother-in-law of June (Randy) Parlow, Fred (Donna) Mackenzie, Jane (Brian) Vienneau and the late Lorraine (Ab) Silk. Norman’s children want to express their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care their dad received from their aunts, June and Jane. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

As per his wishes, a graveside service will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 9:30 am. A Celebration of Life will follow. In lieu of flowers and donations, please take an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors.
