It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph (Joe) James Breckenridge on December 9, 2022 at the age of 86 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH).

Joe met and married the love of his life June Parr and they have remained at each other’s side for over 65 years. Joe was the loving father of Debbie (Steve), Rick (Vickie), Heather (Francesco), Kevin and infant son Timothy (predeceased), and a proud grandpa and great grandpa. Joe and June also welcomed many foster children into their home, with special mention to Don.

Beloved son of the late Helen and Jim, dear brother of the late Audrey Green, Victoria Bronicheski (late Stan), late Jack (late Jeannette), late Olive Hillier (late Dale), and Ken (late Gerry). Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Joe was a proud employee of A&P then Metro for 44 years. He will be remembered for his love and care of his family and his never-ending love for his dogs, especially Buddy. Joe couldn’t wait any longer for the Toronto Maple Leafs to win the Stanley Cup.

Special thanks to the Dr. Karen Booth, Bayshore ‘A’ Team nurses Kim and Cathy as well as the whole Palliative Team who provided support for him at home and the ARCH staff and volunteers for their kind and compassionate care of Joe.

Joe and his family were so fortunate to have met such a caring and dedicated team that ensured his wishes were met in his end-of-life journey. Our community is so blessed to have this resource!

As per Joe’s wishes there will be no service. Joe was an outgoing person and reached out with a friendly hello to everyone he met. He would like you to do the same over the holiday season.

Memorial Donations to enhance the good work of ARCH would be appreciated (Payable online or by cheque).
