The family of Wesley Robert (Bob) Brill announces his sudden and unexpected passing on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022 at the age of 78. He leaves behind his wife Valerie (Weight) Brill of Espanola, ON, daughter Julia Brill of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, and son Andrew Brill (Jessica) of Fort St. John, BC. Predeceased by his first infant son, David. He leaves behind four grandchildren, all of whom put a sparkle in his eye: Emily and Melany Brill, and chosen grandchildren Tyson and Kelsey Tilley. Predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Thelma Brill, sister Barbara Nichols (Allan), and sister-in-law Ann Zakem (Robbie). Survived by his brother Terry Brill (Patty) of Bracebridge, sisters-in-law Frances Caldarelli (Jack), Susan Presenza (Antonio), and brother-in-law Bob Weight (Lois), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Born October 8, 1944, he was raised in Englehart and later North Bay, and met Valerie when he returned to Laurentian University after travelling extensively abroad. Bob was a “geographer first” (his words) and a respected teacher at Espanola High School where his students enjoyed listening to his many stories about life on a kibbutz in Israel. He retired in 2000. Bob loved his cottage at Windfall Lake and his Buffalo Bills, but most of all his family and friends. If so desired, donations may be made to the Espanola Long Term Care or the Food Bank, or a charity of your choice. “Go Bills, Go!” Cremation with a graveside committal service in the Espanola Cemetery will be at a later date. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola.
