Peacefully at home, with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the age of 71.
Beloved husband of Judy. Loving father of Jason (Paula), Jody and predeceased by Hans Bruzas and Shawn Matthews. Proud Grandfather of Keith Stewart, Brendan Stewart (Darian), Kara Lanthier (Jason) and Elliot Bruzas. Great Grandfather of Noah, Zavier, Skyla, Zaxtyn, Zariah, Gracelyn and Calvin. Dear brother of Roman (Betty), Victor (Anne Jean), Frank (Joy), Peter (Marilyn), John (Lola), Sylvia Meincke (Otto) and the late Beatrice Patrick. Brother-in-law of Al Matthews (Audrey), Mac Matthews, Shirley Richardson (Bill), Harvey Matthews and the late Bob Matthews (Janice). Harold will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Harold was born and raised in Echo Bay and worked 30 Years at Algoma Steel, 19 years at National Grocers and spent time operating a gas station with his dad in Echo Bay and he also worked with his son at Jody's Country Kitchen. Dad also spent many years coaching soccer and hockey in the Soo and North Shore.
Friends may visit the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522) on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 1 pm. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
