She was well-loved and respected for her dedication and diligence. The family wishes to extend its deep gratitude to the Canadian Consulate in Ottawa and the Canadian Border Services, especially Superintendent Paul Carey in Thunder Bay for caring and exhaustive efforts above and beyond the call of all duty. Special thanks to Helen Gillespie for bringing sensitivity, compassion and bureaucratic expertise, and to Lori Rainone for the loving support of a friend. Robyn and Claire were best friends and roommates. They had both attended Lakehead University and were both employed as Customs Inspectors. Canadian Border Services is coordinating the establishment of a scholarship and bursary fund in their names, at Lakehead University. Services in Thunder Bay to be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2004, 10:00 am, Trinity United Church with a full colour guard by the Canadian Border Services, followed by a reception celebrating Robyn’s life, to be held at the Valhalla Inn. A private service will be held in Sault Ste. Marie. Robyn was a caring, generous, thoughtful daughter, friend, and family member. She enjoyed every minute of her life and she walked this earth with high spirit and joy. Robyn was committed to giving blood on a regular basis. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that blood donations be made in her honour, or donations be made to the Canadian Blood Services.
