It is with sadness that the family of Marie Byczek announces her passing at the Kirkland & District Hospital on Tuesday, August 9, 2005. Marie was a lifelong member of the Polish Society. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Margaret Sowinski, infant brother Paul and infant sister Ann, sister Agnes Gauthier, brothers Felix and John Sowinski, husbands Joseph Skalecki and Kazimierz "John" Byczek. Marie is lovingly remembred by her sisters Jean Roslaniec of Mississauga, Theresa Buko of Sault Ste. Marie and sister-in-law Theresa Sowinski of New Liskeard; cherished children Ed (Pat) Skalecki of Kirkland Lake, Syl Skalecki of Sault Ste. Marie, Jan (Al) Bernard of New Liskeard, Stan (Kathryn) Skalecki of Kirkland Lake and Pat (Yvan) Delorme of Timmins and Theresa Krzeszowiec who Marie kept dear to her heart and always considered her as being family. Marie will fondly be remembered by her grandchildren, Kim (Tim) Sanzoski of London, Steph (Chris) Braido of Sault Ste. Marie, Kevin (Val) Skalecki of Sault Ste. Marie, Elaine (Kevin) Reid of Sault Ste. Marie, Christine (Al) Geere of Penetanguishene, Tara Skalecki of Kitchener, Cassandra Bernard of New Liskeard, Scott Skalecki of Kirkland Lake, Sabrina Skalecki of Kirkland Lake, Natalie Delorme of Timmins, Sarah Delorme of Timmins, Dean (Anne) Hutchinson of Ayr, On, Darlene (Gerry) Lafontaine of Kirkland Lake and Darren (Tina) Hutchinson of Marathon as well as 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Friday, August 12, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from Holy Name Parish on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Wayne Mills officiating. Marie will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. Donations in Marie's memory may be made to the Kirkland & District Hospital Foundation or the Holy Name Parish.
