(January 12, 1971 ~ March 13, 2021) - It is with profound sadness that the family of Sonya Melanie Calderhead announces her peaceful passing in her 50th year on March 13, 2021 at home, surrounded by her family.
Beloved wife and best friend of Robert Calderhead Sr., loving mom of Brittany Lillie (John), and best Mimi ever to Mason Morrin. Predeceased by her parents, Betty and Allan Jones. Adored sister of Linda Laidley, the late David Laidley (Carla), Cheryl Taylor, Gerald Laidley (Linda), Wanda Keating, and Daryle Jones (Julie). Step-sister of Thomas Jones, David Jones and Judy Stewart. Loved step-mother of Valerie (Jean-Guy), Robert Jr., Michael (Michelle) and Samantha (Jason). Sister-in-law of Michael Calderhead (Rhonda), and Dyan Lavoie of Timmins. Aunt and great-aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Best and valued friend of Laurie Houle (David) and Samantha Turmaine. Special thank you to Bayshore nurses especially Cathy Moon who demonstrated compassion, care, and friendship in our hour of need and to Mark Fera and family who are like family to us. Sonya worked 18 years at the Market Mall Postal Outlet (Stamping Grounds) and valued the friendship and kindness of countless staff and patrons.
As per Sonya’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services or visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of gifts, donations via online or cheque to ARCH would be greatly appreciated by the family.
