Passed away peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on September 4, 2024 at the age of 82. Hélène was born on October 29th, 1941 in Sudbury to the late Donat and Isabelle Normandeau.

Cherished wife and life-long companion of Ronald Caron for 62 years. Mother of her three boys Dan (Annie), Pat (Darlene) and Roger (Suzie). Proud Mamylene to four beautiful grandchildren Catherine (Guillaume), Christine (Miguel), Mitchell Dewar and Alex. Proud honorary grandmother of William and Frank Moroz and their families.

Survived by her sister Claire Normandeau. Predeceased by Roland Normandeau (Claire), Jacqueline (late Paul Caravaggie), Andre Normandeau, Jean-Paul Normandeau (Marion) and Martha (Peter Allen).

Survived by her extended family Rolande (late Antonio DiMambro), Aline (late Exelus Thauvette), Claudette (Gaston Godard), Julien (Gabrielle) and Gaston (Thérèse). Pre-deceased by Cécile (late Léonard Lord), Fernand (late Liliane), Yvon (Julie), Georgette (Guy Grégoire), Robert (late Cécile), Bertrand (Patricia), Isabelle (late Léo-Paul Gingras), Gilbert (Léola) and Denise (Serge Simonnot).

Aunt to many nieces and nephews that held special places in her heart.

Hélène was a dedicated teacher in the French school system for many years. She loved her job and the children that she taught. She eventually retired, and with her husband by her side travelled to so many places including France, Hawaii and St. Martin just to name a few. They ultimately laid roots and became “snowbirds” in Florida for many years to help escape the cold winters of the north, which allowed them to enjoy golf year-round. She also found the time to proudly volunteer at ARCH (with her husband) to help give back to the community.

She worked hard, she played hard, and most of all she loved even harder!

A special thank you to her sister-in-law and friend Léola, and to the F.J. Davey home Birch 1 and Apple 3 units for the attention and care that was given to Hélène during her time of need.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton and Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E, 705-759-2522). As per Hélène’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A celebration of life for the immediate family will take place in Sault Ste. Marie at a later date. Memorial donations may be made (by cheque or online) to ARCH, or to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Online condolences and tributes can be made and found at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Caron family.
