(February 1, 1937 - August 24, 2023)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruno Castellarin after a lengthy battle with Dementia in his 86th year.

Family meant everything to Bruno. There is no denying that those he has left behind will miss him every day. Bruno was the beloved husband of Laura. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this coming September 7th. Loving father to Janet (Sergio) Saccucci, Paul, and (late) Mark. He was the proud Nonno to Morgan and Steven (Jessica) Saccucci. Bruno is survived by his brother Italo (Ernesta) Castellarin and sister Rosina (late Ottorino) Marano from Friuli, Italy. Caring brother-in-law to John (Julia) and Andrew (Debbie) Spironello. Dearest Uncle to Ron (Ginger) and Dan (Anna) Spironello, Cathy (Larry) Quinten, Michael (Megan) and Andrew (Ashley) Spironello. Bruno will also be missed by his nieces and nephews in Italy; (late) Claudio (Sandra), Franco Marano, Sara and Mauro (Silvia) Castellarin. Bruno will be fondly remembered by his cousins Fred (Arlene) and Carlo (Cheryl) China, Giordana in Milano, Italy, and cousins in Alberta and British Columbia. He will also be missed by many dear friends.

Bruno was a proud Furlan and member of the Sault Ste. Marie Fogolar Furlan Club. From Casarsa, Italy, he immigrated to Sault Ste. Marie in 1956 when he was 19 years old. Bruno was a jack of all trades and took pride in his work installing windows for Soo Mill. Even after his Dementia advanced, Bruno liked to reminisce about all the buildings in which he installed windows and doors  around the Soo. Bruno then worked many years as a Foreman for his cousins at China Steel until he retired in 2002.

Bruno knew the importance of hard work and family and always took pride in his home, garden, and yard. Bruno could always be found talking to his Paesan's, telling an old story, sharing a funny rhyme and singing the songs they grew up with. His family will dearly miss hearing his voice and his laughter and will cherish his stories and jokes for a lifetime.

Family and friends are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E, 705-759-2522) on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at Precious Blood Cathedral (778 Queen St. E) at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 30, 2023 with Rev.
