Departed this life for his heavenly home on Sunday, August 19, 2018, while doing an act of kindness, which was typical of the way he lived his life. David had a warm, generous and compassionate spirit and was always reaching out to others, and he made an impact on all the lives he touched. He never met a stranger. He was born February 21, 1945 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, to Minnie and Armand Cedolia. He came to North Carolina in 1964 and studied business at Wake Forest University, and met his wife, the former Bonnie Seward, and decided to stay. His career was in fabric sales, and he was a natural born salesman, who always had some product to sell. For many years he represented International Textile, New York City, and later he represented JLA Home Fabrics. David loved fishing at Hatteras, cooking Italian food, baking bread, and spending time with his sons and supporting them in their endeavors. David was in fellowship at Sedge Garden Chapel in Kernersville, and was at one time an elder, and led the singing. He took a lot of interest in the children and they called him “Uncle David,” and that continues to be his name now that they are grown. He was pre-deceased by his parents, and sister, Patricia. David is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and sons Jonathan and Andrew of Greensboro, sister Dawn MacPhee, brother Daniel and wife, Janina, and brother Paul and wife Colleen, of Sault Ste. Marie. With a Croatian/ Italian background, he grew up with lots of cousins, with whom he has special relationships. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. The family received friends at Cumby on Eastchester Drive, High Point, from 6-8 pm on Thursday, August 23. Memorial service will be Friday, August 24 at 2:00 pm at Cumby. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mental Health Associates of the Triad, 910 Mill Avenue, High Point, NC 27260, Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262, or to the charity of the donor’s choice. A memorial service may be held in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, at a later date. David’s wishes were to be interred with his father Armand in Greenwood Cemetery.
