It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing with his family by his side at Extendicare Maple View on Friday, April 10, 2020 at the age of 82. Born in Reserve Mines, Cape Breton. He was the son of the late Mary (Deveaux) and Charles Chiasson. Beloved husband of 55 years to Pearl Chiasson. Loving Dad of Lauralee Frolich (Dave). Stepfather of Vincent Derochie (Anna), Jackie Rancourt (Joe), Pamela McDonald (Al), Brent Derochie (Karen) and Crystal Derochie. He was predeceased by his stepdaughter Patricia Derochie, also predeceased by his sisters Josephine Benoit, Elizabeth Chiasson and by his son-in-law Ben Hertzke. Proud grandfather and great grandfather to many grandchildren. Also lovingly remembered by many friends and relatives. A special thank you to Jan and Linda for all your help in every way. Dad was a loveable giving person. He spent 38 years serving our country in the Military. He enjoyed old trucks, his chihuahua dogs, Mia and Tia, listening to country music and doodling in his TV guides. Special thanks to the staff at Extendicare Maple View and especially the Nursing staff on Tunnel Lake for making my husband and our Dad comfortable to the very end. A celebration of life to follow at a later date in Sault Ste Marie, ON and Cornwall, ON. Memorial donations made to Extendicare Maple View Resident's Council or the Sault Ste.
