COLLINS, Janette

The Spirit of Jannette Grace Collins left this world at 1:50 am. Thursday. July 14, 2022 in her 84th year.

Jan went out in style wearing her Bright Hawaiian Print Culottes; new Turquoise Tee from Tracey; her own knitted socks; her best walking shoes. And last but NOT LEAST ..her old denim hat ..WITH pins added of ‘a pair of feet’ and a pin scrolled of her initial ..to which was added the pearl her brother Harry found in an oyster & gave to Jan years ago.

Anyone who was lucky enough to receive a pair of Jan's knitted socks or mittens were able to feel the warmth of her love.

Jan joins her parents Albert and Violet (Eichmann) and brothers Harry (late Shirley) and Dave (June) Collins. Survived by brother and sisters Pat Kingshott (late Bill) Nancy MacLeod (late Mado) James Collins (late Joan) Judith Collins and Lee Towell (Gordon). Jan will be missed by long-time friends Sharon & Dave Pinder and Sam & Tracey Bilmes and their families.

Aunt Jan will be missed by many beloved nieces and nephews and all of the children she cared for in her lifetime. Jan was a loving, caring, genuine friend with a mischievous sense of humour.

Jan spent almost half her life living with and sharing her life with her closest sister and best friend Jude. Thank you for your love Judy.

Not unlike Jan's quiet and humble life so was her death. There will be no funeral. Only the many wonderful memories to bring her friends and family peace.

The hospice where Jan was compassionately cared for this last week did a ‘walk out’ ceremony as they played one of Jan’s favourite songs 'Stand by Me’.

'When the night has come

And the land is dark

And the moon is the only light we'll see

No I won't be afraid

No I won't be afraid

Just as long as you stand by me'

Memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522).
