Passed away peacefully at Cedarwood Lodge, on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the age of 81.

Jules is now reunited with his beloved wife Claudia (2008). Son of the late Antonio (late Eugenie Arsenault).  Cherished father of Gary (Chantal).  Proud grandfather to Kyle.  Brother of Leo Cormier (Darlene) and Lise Soffice (John).   Brother-in-law of Vernon Doucet (Viola), Louis Doucet (Connie) (late Rosemarie), Armand Doucet (Pamela), Colette Cormier (Maurice) and the late Leola Allard (Bert) and the late Armande Cliché (late Andre).  Jules was loved by many nieces and nephews, friends, relatives and co-workers.

Our sincere thanks to the caring staff at  Cedarwood Lodge where his last year of his life was spent in the care of the compassionate staff. The family is deeply indebted to these exceptional people who tirelessly worked to make Jules' life as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.  Additional thanks to the caring staff at Great Northern Retirement Home.

Jules was born in Petit Rocher, New Brunswick, where his unlimited love and taste for seafood was apparent and remained all his life.  He spent the majority of his youth and all of his adult life in Sault Ste. Marie with his siblings and cousins.  Jules was a Millwright at Algoma Steel until retirement and later was superintendent / maintenance repair worker for various apartment buildings throughout the city.  He was a true handyman who enjoyed doing fixer uppers for work, family and friends all at a moments notice.  He had a spirited and generous gentle soul to those that were close to him.  He has graced us with a lifetime of memories filled with laughter and endless amounts of love.

In keeping with Jules’ wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest with his wife Claudia and baby son Cormier.  Family and close friends are invited to meet at the cemetery Chapel (corner of Fourth Line and Peoples Rd.) on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 9:45 am for a procession to the graveside.  A short prayer for the interment will begin at 10 am.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522). In Jules' memory, contributions (payable online or by cheque) to Alzheimer Society (Sault Ste Marie and Algoma District) would be appreciated.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Cormier family.
