CORMIER, Miriam

July 28, 1936 - June 2, 2005. Miriam passed into the arms of Jesus
in her 68th year after a lengthy illness. Daughter of the late Ed and Mirjam (nee
Korell). Sister of the late Robert Cormier (Therese) and Barry Cormier (Flora). Aunt
of Rachelle, Kristen-Anne, Christopher, Jude, Jean-Paul, Edmund, Sylvie, Daniel,
Mirjam and Barry Jr. Great aunt of 15 nieces and nephews. Niece of Arvo and Eila
Korell. Miriam resided in Ottawa for the past 12 years working as a researcher for
her dearest and closest friend, Father Yvon St. Arnaud at St. Paul's University.
Miriam had a unique gift of loving people and it reflected in those who loved her
dearly. In the Sault, although she has been gone these many years, she has
maintained a loving friendship with her cousin Randy Cormier (who was raised like a
younger brother), cousin Joan DesJardins, cousin Cathy Stewart, dear friend Lorraine
Graham, cousin Cathy Bonenfant and many more. In Ottawa, those closest to Miriam
cherished her special. Sylvia, Claire, Bernard and Luce, Sister Francoise, Sister
Dolores, Claire Trembly, Estelle, Michel, Nichelle, staff and nurses from St.
Vincent's Hospital, patients from 5th floor at St. Vincent's and many, many more
cherished their friendship and love for Miriam. Friends may call at the Arthur
Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, June 6, 2005 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral mass to be held at Precious Blood Cathedral on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 1:00
p.m. Monsignor Bernard Burns officiating. Cremation with interment in Holy Sepulchre
at a later date. A memorial service will be held in Ottawa in the future. Memorial
contributions to the Children's Wish Foundation, Diabetes Association and to the
Oblate Fathers of Mary Immaculate (Ottawa) would be appreciated by the family. The
Apostle Paul says "In the end there are three things faith, hope and love and the
greatest of these is love."
