July 31, 1926 - November 1, 2022 - It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Murray, at the age of 96.

Devoted husband of the late, Eva. Proud father to Susan Goetz of Guelph and Michael Goetz (Mary Beth) of Thunder Bay. Grandpa to Megan (Adam) and Matthew (Brittany). Great grandpa to Milo. Brother to the late Sister Erma of the Grey Nuns, late Patricia (late John), Helen (late Bob) and Gail (late Paul). Uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Murray was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie. He was an avid outdoorsman where he spent most of his life residing on Upper Island Lake. Murray will be fondly remembered for his willingness to help others in need, and his wonderful sense of humour. Murray had a love for aviation where he became a private pilot and explored the remote lakes and rivers of Northern Ontario. He was also a great supporter of the Soo Greyhounds. Murray spent his career as a Process Plant Operator for Union Carbide, where he was greatly respected by all of his colleagues.

As per Murray's request, a private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu flowers memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E., 705-759-2522). Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family.

A life well lived.
