Of Mallorytown died peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Wednesday, August 17, 2005. Paul was 63 years old. He was born and raised in Blind River, Ontario, the son of Emile and Jeanne Cyr. He enjoyed employment with the Ministry of Natural Resources in Northern Ontario prior to moving to Toronto where he worked at Kodak Canada. Paul married Jane Reynolds in 1975 in Lyn, Ontario where they later moved with son Karl Cyr. Paul Cyr resided in Lyn for seventeen years and then moved to the Graham Lake area. Paul drove for Burnbrae Farms and was later employed at Motor Coil Manufacturing in Brockville. Paul was an active member of the Brockville District Fish and Game Club as a board member and handgun safety instructor and enthusiast. Paul was also an active member of the Every Angle Photography Association in Brockville. He enjoyed Photography Association events and was eagerly involved in photo shoots and travels with the club. Paul treasured his family, loved life and valued his close friends. Paul's passions were digital photography and travel throughout Canada - especially the wilderness of Northern Ontario, where he enjoyed reconnecting with his roots. Paul's travels and photo shoot in Newfoundland and the Maritimes, exhibited at the Brockville Arts Center, were highlights of a long artistic journey and exploration of the natural world. He is survived by his wife Norma Jane, his son Karl and wife Liz Cyr of Los Angeles, California. Also survived by his sister Pauline Berthelot and husband Louis of Blind River, Ontario, father-in-law Norm Reynolds of Brockville, brother-in-law Jim Reynolds and wife Paulette of Mallorytown, brother-in-law Bob Reynolds and wife Pam of Aberfoyle, Ontario. Paul also had five nephews, and two nieces. Paul Cyr was predeceased by his parents Emile and Jeanne Cyr and his mother-in-law Joyce Reynolds. A private family Graveside Service, officiated by Reverend Bennett, was held at Oakland Cemetery on Friday, August 19, 2005. Barclay Funeral Home, Brockville, entrusted with the arrangements.
