Beloved husband of the late Frances (nee Laforge) of Iron Bridge for 65 years. Brother of Esther Taylor (late Jack) of Baltimore MA and Nyles Beharriell (Christine) of Iron Bridge. Brother-in-law of Elmer and Gladys Dow of Nova Scotia. Uncle of Chad, Brandon, Laurel, Dawn and Valarie.
Austin enjoyed fishing and camping out on their boat on Chiblow Lake. He was a great mechanic from the age of 18 until he retired from the Iron Bridge Garage in 1980. He and Frances built a new home in Dean Lake on Lake Huron, and they enjoyed catching fish from the “big lake”. He will be missed by his family, and we will toast him with his favorite, rum and coke.
The family would like to thank staff at Golden Birches Terrace and NSHN-Blind River for the excellent care and compassion they showed to Austin. Special thank you to Melanie and Jim for all the cards and gifts sent to him from Saskatchewan and Jerry Daigle and family for all their regular phone calls.
A private graveside service and interment at Spruce Grove Cemetery in Iron Bridge will be held in the spring.
