Peacefully at Mauno Kaihla Koti on Thursday, April 28, 2022 in his 90th year with family at his side.
Loving father of Marc David (Michelle), Michelle David (David Steel) and Manon Vaillancourt. Proud grand-papa of Curtis, Carter and Cameron David, Matéa and Mélika David-Steel and Alexandra Vaillancourt (Myles Anselmini), Andrée-Anne Vaillancourt (Vincent) and Alain Vaillancourt (Brandon Zuidema) and great grand-papa of Annabella Anselmini. Dear brother of Joan-Ann Latour (John) and predeceased by sister Rita Fillion (Gabriel), brother Leo David (Helen Corban) and parents Félix David and Laura Gerylo. Former spouse and friend of Carole David (née Giroux). Cy will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Cy was a dedicated A.J. Bus Lines employee for 52 years, wearing many different hats. He will be remembered as an outdoorsman and later in life, a motorcyclist. He was an avid reader and Tik Tok viewer. Cy was also a very talented artisan in many different genres. He enjoyed square dancing, figure skating and bowling. He was a horticulturalist and had great culinary creativity.
Cy was known for his terrific sense of humour and for being a great storyteller. He was a kind, generous gentleman with an infectious smile. Expiry dates on food products were irrelevant to Cy. He had a special talent for extending visits. He was selfless.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E., Sault Ste. Marie, 705-759-2522) on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 1 pm to 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to OFRA - Mauno Kaihla Koti Fund would be greatly appreciated.
