Roy William Davidson passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in Calgary, AB at the age of 85 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Roy, Robert (Sandy) Davidson, Richard, Rennie and Rory; grandchildren, Jeret Davidson, Brenn and Keyly; special grandson Keaton Hoyle; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Aurora, Mikleo and Opea; nieces and nephews, Ronnie and Darren Spry of Desbarats, ON, Kelly Belisle, Billy Belisle and Tammy Sinclair of Thesalon, ON; cousin, David (Tash) Bamagesic of St Joseph Island, ON; and good friends, Billy Bishop of Calgary, AB, Albert MacIntyre of Penticton, BC, and Robert (Mary) of Sault Ste. Marie, ON. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara; parents, Benjamin and Irene Davidson; sisters, Florence (Ron) Spry and Ilene (William) Belisle; niece Ilene "Booboo" Spry; and nephew, Terry Belisle.
Roy was born on St Joseph Island, ON to Irene and Benjamin Davidson. While in Ontario in his younger years, Roy sailed the great Lakes. He moved to Calgary in 1968 where he got into the scrap metal industry and would spend his remaining years. In Alberta he loved to go on road trips through the mountains. Roy was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching baseball and hockey cheering on his favorite team; the Chicago Blackhawks. He was a funny man who could always make everyone laugh. He was animated and wouldn’t even need to speak to show how he was feeling. You could tell just by the look on his face!
Roy enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He loved going out for coffee and breakfast with his friend, Billy Bishop. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
