It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Saverio DiPietro at the Sault Area Hospital.

Loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all whose lives he touched. He left us peacefully in the morning of July 23rd in his 96th year. He is reunited with his beloved wife Yola of 68 years. Born in 1927 in Pretoro, Province of Chieti, Italy, Frank lived a very eventful life. He immigrated to Canada in 1950, where he married his wife Yola and settled in Sault Ste Marie.

He was the cherished husband to Yola, predeceased 2021, father of Rosetta Theriault (Gene Paul), Rocky DiPietro (Patty) and Angela Hiddleston (Tom). Grandfather to Chantal Persaud (Sam), Jean-Paul Theriault (Christy), Jesse Hiddleston (Chelsey), Joseph DiPietro (Krista), Taylor Hiddleston (Heather) and Daniel DiPietro. Papa Pietro to Averie, Elijah, Mason and Nola. Predeceased by his parents Rocco DiPietro and Luiga Rosa Marcantonio. Survived by his brothers Nicolene (Carmel) and Joseph (late Anna). Son-in-law of the late Joseph and Angela DiSipio. Brother-in-law of the late Maria D’Angelo (late Tony), late Ada MarcAntonio (late Domenico), late Lea DiMuzio (late Gino), late Nicola DiSipio (Imelda). Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Frank’s passion was always making sure his family was taken care of and no one was excluded. He worked a long career at Algoma Contractors to put a roof over his family’s head, food on the table and provide for everyone’s future. Frank was also an accomplished musician. He was a member of the Sault Symphony Orchestra and the Operatic Society for many years (clarinetist) as well as many other big and small bands in the Sault and Italy. His other hobbies consisted of gardening, watching hockey and football, and barbecuing. He was truly a great man and we will miss him deeply.

The family wishes to send a special thank-you to CBI Health, especially Elena, Joelle and Kelly.  Also to Dr. Tull and Brenda as well as all the nurses at Sault Area Hospital for the extraordinary level of care and compassion during Frank’s final days.

A private funeral will be held at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).  Rev. Veselko Kvesic officiating.  Entombment Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions by cheque or online to ARCH Hospice would be greatly appreciated.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the DiPietro family.

"The love of a family is life's greatest blessing."
